FCC "A" wins the Taichung Sixes

FCC"A" are Sixes Champs !

Game 1
FCC "A" v. CCC
CCC - 43/4 (Chaminda 3/6)
FCC - 47/4 (Dwight 26*, Salim 2/5)

The CCC elected to bat against FCC A and it wasn't long before men were marching back to the pavilion (shed)- the top scorer was Pema who managed 9* - but extras from the FCC totalled 21. A loose bowling display kept CCC in the game.

Great batting from DJ again anchored the innings as DB was the only other player to trouble the scorers before being bowled by another corker from Chaminda for 5. FCC A was looking shaky after one of Taiwan's best picked up three scalps in his over, also trapping Salim LBW and bowling Charl.

Game 2
FCC "A" v. Sporting Lesbians
FCC - 94/3 (Dwight 33*, Shardul 12, Charl 10* & 1/10)
SL - 50/1 (Garth 28*, Blaze 14*)

Inspired by FCC "B's" 'upset' against KCCC, the FCC "A" were off to a flyer with DJ smashing everything out of the park before being forced to retire on 33. Shardul then took up the charge, combining with Charl to lift the champs to 94 after their allotted 5 overs.

In a solid reply the Lezos batted well but the FCC boys gave away just 5 extras in a tight bowling display. Solid fielding was the key and in the end easily enough to record the first win of the tournie.

Game 3
FCC "A" vs. Mixed Up
MU - 2/62
FCC "A" - 63/1 (Dwight 15* & 1/5, Shardul 13, Salim 1/4, DB 12*)

The boys from Mixed Up started off extremely on Sunday morning in the cup champions pool with both openers looking dangerous with Attie making 19 and the big leftie Jacques finishing not out on 29. However tight bowling from the lads and sheer determination kept the score down to a gettable 62. An example of this determination was MVP's full length leap at backward square resulting in a broken hand and scabby face after a colission with the hard taichung terra firma (he was later stuck with a NTD 100 fine to go with the hospital bill).

The chase went well with FCC A once again clinical in their victory bringing up 63 with just 4 balls to spare. This time Dwight laid anchor while Shardul and DB took the attack to the bowling (a glimpse of things to come in Shanghai?). Once again, when it was needed, the  team could always pull something out of the bag - whether it was Salim's corker to get rid of Attie or MVPs inspiring face plant.

Well done lads!
